Responsible AI in hiring: advice, not verdicts

Ituka uses AI to read resumes and to interview candidates by voice. It is built on one rule: the software advises, and people decide. This page says what that means in the product, and what the AI does not do.

People decide

  • A score never closes an application on its own. A person on the hiring team decides.
  • A resume score never blocks an invitation. Your team can invite someone who is below the bar, with a reason that is recorded.
  • After a meeting a person records the outcome, and only an outcome that allows an offer lets a letter be started.
  • An offer letter is approved by an administrator before it is sent.

The AI shows its evidence

  • Each criterion in a voice interview is a set of yes or no checks about what the candidate said, not a single impression.
  • A check counts only if the assessment quotes words the candidate actually said. No quote, no credit.
  • Each interview is read three times, and the result is flagged if the readings disagree.
  • Your team sees a band, the score, the quotes, the concerns worth probing, the transcript and the recording if there is one.

What the AI does not do

  • It never scores fluency, accent or grammar.
  • It does not analyse video. A recording is for your team to watch: no AI looks at it, no score is made from it, and no face is matched to anything.
  • The role fit radar reads a resume with the name, contact details, links, address, school names and graduation years taken out.
  • It does not act on anything a candidate says as an instruction.
  • It does not move candidates or reject anyone in your other systems.

What we have not done

We do not claim that the AI is free of bias, and we have not published an independent bias audit. Some places require one for automated employment decision tools, and the organization using the tool is responsible for meeting the rules where it hires. Our Terms say so.

Screening and interview results are produced with AI and can be inaccurate: hiring decisions stay with the organization.

Questions about AI in hiring

Does the AI decide who is hired?

No. A score never closes an application on its own. A person on the hiring team decides, and can still offer an interview to an applicant who is below the bar, with a reason that is recorded.

Can I see why a candidate was scored the way they were?

Yes. Each score comes with the quotes from the candidate that earned it and the concerns worth probing, along with the transcript.

Is the AI free of bias?

We do not claim that. Scores are built from what a candidate said about their own work, never from accent, fluency or grammar, and a person makes the decision. An independent bias audit has not been published, and the organization using the tool is responsible for complying with the rules where it hires.

Is the candidate's video analysed?

No. Video is optional, is shown only to the people who review the interview, and is deleted on a schedule. No AI analyses it.
